Have you heard of the Akashic Records?

Asked by Inspired_2write (14486points) June 25th, 2013

“Akashic records, or the eternal Book of Life, date back to antiquity. References in the Old Testament and beyond give us the sense that there is a collective storehouse of knowledge that is written on the fabric of reality. ”
What do you think if this was true?

Yes. Not sure if it’s completely believable, but I think I’ve heard of that possibly with Hinduism. I think Buddhism and the meditation practices are fascinating. I might have heard of that being tied to spiritualism, but I could be mistaken.

What would it even mean for that to be true? How can you write a storehouse on fabric?
Does reality have a fabric on which things can be written? It’s a meaningless jumble of words.

If there was some citation of the actual “references in the Old Testament” (by the way, what is beyond the Old Testament? What does that mean?) or to what time period “antiquity” refers, there might be something there to evaluate. But there is not.

There’s no “there” there.

I’ve heard of it in the context of Hinduism and Buddhism, but I was not aware that it had a Biblical origin. I don’t believe it’s real though.

Even among spiritalists the Akashic records are a subtle and esoteric subject.
They are basically a history of all actions and intentions of all souls who ever lived.
There is a given premise of reincarnation, and your soul history could illuminate the back story of troublesome behavior and apparently bad luck.
Lots of folks claim they have access one way or another to this information, often through spirit guides.

But in my experience only a minority of people who claim contact with spirit guides have any idea what they are doing (most are just makin’ shit up y’know?).
I know only one such person who has the training and emotional discipline to do this kind of thing consistently and without ego. She has recently also done substantial work related to Akashic records and seems to have a bead on working with them.

At the end of the day, any sort of divination is usually a distraction from your soul’s work. What one needs to do to be a good soul in the world in which one finds oneself is usually clear enough.

I think that the” Akashic Records”,is our consciousness
recording everything to out unconsciousness, since each
and everyone of us remember our experiences though
life.
It is just a metter of labelling it Akashic.
Just my thoughts on this subject.
